Christmas Stocking Stuffers and Magic Tricks

Magic Trick Stocking Stuffers

Stocking stuffers are often the last thing people put together for Christmas. I know that in years past I’ve been guilty of running to Target desperately on Christmas Eve looking for little gifts and chocolates for the kiddies. They probably don’t notice, I try to go for a quantity over quality approach to the stocking. This year I’ve been planning a litle further in advance. I mean I haven’t settled on the items yet, but at least I’m thinking about it! I think that magic ticks are a fun little item to throw into a stocking. They’re a little old fashioned, but my kids love to figure out how the tricks work. There are all sorts of things that you can put into the stockings. Dice tricks and card tricks are still my favorites. They’re cheap too. With the economy the way it is still, you probably don’t have extra cash to put things like gold necklaces and coins hanging above the fireplace. So, try some inexpensive playful items like magic tricks. You can fit plans for fancy magic tricks in a stocking too. Keep your kids occupied for hours trying to figure out to amaze you and their friends with magic plans that create tricks that I find pretty darn exciting.

Classic magician accessories like wands and silks are available as well, so your lucky kid will have the complete magician look. Maybe he’ll be the next David Copperfield! He has private islands ya know? Wouldn’t you like to visit? Merry Christmas!

Michael Jackson and other Costume Gloves

Costume Michael Jackson Gloves

The King of Pop left behind some iconic memories that will not soon be forgotten. Michael Jackson, as much as his musical genius, should be appreciated for his love of costume. Truthfully, I don’t think that the King of Pop ever went out when not in costume. He had a huge wardrobe of custom made items that always showcased his love for the fanciful side of clothing. He loved military gear. As long as it was decked out in sequins; he wore tight pants cut short to show off those magic feet. Also, he pioneered some fashion trends that although popular in the 80s and 90s, had waned until the King’s untimely death. Poor little Michael. Anyway, one of these super cool styles is the glove. The single gloved hand of Michael Jackson is a pop culture treasure that will endure for many years to come. For any Michael Jackson costume this Halloween I really recommend going all out and getting a cool white glove.

Gloves aren’t unique to Michael Jackson, although the single sequin glove was a signature of his. Other costume look fantastic with long or short costume glove as well. They’re a cheap costume accessory that really can jazz up an outfit. Costume sets are easy, but some are lacking in the details you desire. Many a set would not include something like a mesh fingerless glove. Specific items like these are fresh and can turn your costume into a current style. Blurring the lines between outerwear and costume…just like Michael. RIP.

Nude Body Suits

Nude Body Suits

Remember that Sienfeld episode where George wanted to streak, but was too modest to actually go through with it? A ends up wearing a nude colored body suit and running across the field. So funny. So Seinfeld. My brother did a copy cat psuedo streaking at his high school graduation. Everyone though that he was actually streaking and the crowd roared as he approached in the distance. They soon realized that he wasn’t really naked and erupted into uncontrollable laughter. Even the old grannies were smiling. Nude body suits are a costume that no one will forget. I suppose they have other uses as well, but this one seems like the best use of the item. Don’t blame us if you get in trouble doing whatever you end up doing with this item though. It’s not our fault that you can’t outrun the security gaurds.

For Halloween you can be the fake streaker of the neighborhood. Just jump out of the bushes and scare the livign daylight out of all the kiddies. Be careful you don’t get maced though. I’ve heard that a lor of parents are now carrying tasers and pepper spray to protect the young folk. Kind of lame and overprotective, but still keep an eye out for the canister. You can’t blame them. I mean what type of pervert fake streaks around the neighborhood? Haha. A funny one! And you’re not actually streaking so there is no harm in what you are doing. Not that streaking really hurts anyone. In my case at least. JK.

Ostrich Feather Plumes in Pink Blue and more

Feather Plumes

Ostrich Feather Plumes are a versatile costume accessory that complete many a costume or decorating project. I mean, they’re just feathers dyed to perfection, but they are items that can make a pirate hat pop or a western hairdo fancier. Feathers have a long history in costume, their natural flowing exoticism have been desired from fans to hats to some clever decorating that could be described as campy. Ostrich feathers have some naughtier adult uses for tickling that can be fun too! This is a family website, though, so I’ll steer clear of the big-folk talk…Ostrich feathers are good for old fashioned tickling though. The childish kind. Some people hate it, but chances are if there is someone who hates being ticking with a big feather there is someone who lives to torment them!

Ostrich feathers are awesome for adding to costumes. You can also accessorize hand fans with them to give a ancient egyptian look. Or crop them shorter and attach to an oriental fan for a western look. If you aren’t into crafting, well, shame on you-but you can still use ostrich feathers for your hair. They go great with 20s style headbands and there are colors to match any flapper! Dance and party with a perfect and custom made-by you-headband. Everyone will be asking where you got it. Lie and say it’s vintage. It’s Halloween, they’ll be drunk enough not to inspect further. Enjoy yourself and your ostrich feathered costume!

Costume Tattoo Sleeves

Costume Tattoo sleeves

If you want the toughness of the tattoo, but don’t dig the whole needle with ink thing, then costume tattoo sleeves are an item that you may want to consider. Tattoo sleeves take a lot of time and money to get done. With costume tattoo sleeves you skip all the work and can still go into the office in a polo shirt! Or T Shirt. Whatever people wear to offices these days. Personally I don’t even get out of my pajamas sometimes, so I don’t really see what the big deal with some tattoos are. Then again, it’s not like I’m working at a bank or something. Still, wouldn’t that bank with tattooed employees be more attractive to people with alternative lifestyles? I don’t know, just asking the questions folks. Anyway, the flesh toned sleeves with artsy and excellent designs are good additions to many costume types. From bikers to hipsters to rockabilly costumes. Truly, costume tattoo sleeves are an accessory that can make a costume. For biker, all you need to add is a leather jacket, jeans and a t shirt and you’ll have a pretty realistic biker outfit. Make sure you use old worn out clothes because, as we all know, bikers aren’t known for spending a lot of time shopping for clothes at the mall.

Looking tough for Halloween is as easy as spending a few bucks on a temporary tattoo sleeve. They’re cheap and you may want to wear them on other occasions. Try them at a real Biker bar! Maybe that’s not the best idea, but for Halloween costumes they are perfect.

Costume Canes for Halloween

Costume Canes

I’m so excited everyone! My very favorite season of the year is almost here. Halloween approaches and let the planning commence. I think i may go all out this year. Decorate the house even more than usual. My family is already kind of Munster-esque so it doesn’t take much. Lol. Before you jump into the big stuff, though, try thinking about the details of yoru own costume. Costumes are always best when paired with the right costume accessories, so take a look at the selection of costume canes if you’re dressing up as an old man or woman. Or you want a crook to lean on for your troll costume. The type of cane that you need, no matter which one, is here for you. If you’re going for a Barbershop quartet type of look or a Carnival greeter, try the bamboo canes out. They’re only a few bucks and will make your costume that much more complete.

Canes are a prop that is pretty handy, too. If you get tired you can lean on it while walking-pretty good for the fifth hour of trick or treatign with the little ones. They just want to keep going all night and with your costume cane you’ll be able to take a load off those feet if just momentarily. Steal some of your kid’s andy to keep the sugar levels up. Jk. Also, if you encounter a would-be robber you can defend yourself with your new accessory! Fear not when you wield a cane.

Go Go Boots and Costume Shoes

Costume Go Go Boots

Boots are a hot item. They look great with costumes and you can wear them for long after you wear them with your costume. Go Go boots are a fantastic example. They’re a piece of clothing that should be in everyone’s closet already so if you don’t have a pair, you’re missing out. For a Go Go Dancer costume it’s pretty hard to have a good costume without Go Go boots, anyway. So if you’re planning on doing a 60s costume that’s not a hippie, getting the shoes right is a good idea. If you do go the hippie route, just walk around barefoot for a few days before Halloween to build up the soles of your feet and get them nice and dirty. You’ll save some dough and have a great costume! If you’re more like me, however, you’ll probably want to pick up a good pair of costume shoes to complete your costume.

Halloween costumes are something that you only get to wear once a year, so make this costume count. Get a pair of go go boots to make your costume the best it can be. Everyone notices a good costume, so by putting in that small amount of thought, you’re making sure that you can make some new friends! Go out and mingle in your new and quite exotic go go boots. Available in tons of different styles there are go go boots that go with any style of costume. Now all that’s left is to Go Go out there and party!
