America Costumes for the 4th

American Costumes

Aw the 4th of July…When Americans get together to celebrate their independence from England by getting plastered and lighting off small explosives! To many it’s more than that, but when I think of Independence day parties, I pretty much think of people drinking too much and reveling in the anarchy of the night. I suppose, in a way, it is a fitting tribute to the freedom that we have in this country. We can go to the beach and light firecrackers and drink bourbon or beer. I say bourbon because it is the only true American spirit. Meaning that it is as American as Apple Pie. So maybe I should be encouraging people to go out there and show their pride in Country.

Why don’t you dress up for the occasion in addition to celebrating it. The dress that comes with the female Captain America costume is cute and most surely patriotic. No one will mistake you for a confused foreign tourist when you’re strutting your stuff in a sexy little Red white and blue dress. Pretty inexpensive too. Under 40 bucks. Not bad. I was at Target the other day and noticed that some of their garments are now priced above 80 dollars. Crazy times…Anyway, other than getting super wasted this 4th of July, try to look cute too! Put in some effort before the real partying begins and you’ll be the sexiest and most festive participant at your Independence Day events.

President Masks

Presidential Masks

To wear a mask of the President or other major figures is quite the American tradition. Since the days of Nixon it has been popular to mock our Commanders-in-Chiefs by wear fun costume masks. They allow anyone to look like a political caricature of their favorite or least favorite political figure. Obama masks were at first very popular with supporters of the President and are now hot sellers with those protesting his policies. If the two sides together it would be a field of Obamas! Bush masks were for many years popular in the many protests against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. They’re still pretty popular, many people teaming up with a friend to do an Obama/Bush duo.

There are not just Presidential masks available, there is an awesome Hillary Clinton mask for sale that is perfect for either Halloween or a protest. Many people think that Hil has quite the stern and scary face, so one should feel perfectly at home wearing on Halloween. Halloween masks should be scary. The Ronald Reagan mask looks like a corpse. Perfect for a back form the dead President. A zombie Reagan is a creative and creepy choice for Halloween. Since he is beloved and hated by so many Americans, you’ll have no trouble getting some attention in the costume.

Masks certainly are a costume standard. Presidential masks are some of the hottest sellers out there. Jazz up that 4th of July celebration with a surprise door greeting by the President of the United States…dry, but very funny!

4th of July Costumes

4th of July is a holiday where every American should go out and show their pride and patriotism. Not just by getting really drunk, but by wearing sweet Uncle Sam costumes that will embarrass your kids. It will teach them a good lesson about patriotism, though. Even if everyone else is laughing at you, it’s important to go out their and show your pride in country in the way that makes the most sense to you. Or something like that. Fourth of July is a great time for costumes, though. You don’t have to go overboard, but adding a few patriotic costume accessories to your outfit will tell everyone that you love America. Also, that you have a sense of humor!

Why not light up that barbeque wearing not a tall chef hat, but a tall Uncle Sam hat! Festive and funny! Just don’t use too much lighter fluid and catch your head on fire. Then you’ll look like you’re burning the American flag and all of your guests will hate you. I mean who could be so callous as to burn Uncle Sam’s hat on the 4th of July. That would be super lame of you. If you truly believe that America is a country and idea worth celebrating then don’t be shy and wear that red white and blue with pride! The 4th of July is best celebrated with gusto so be sure to have some tasty American beverages like bourbon or beer. Not Budweiser though. It’s now owned by the Belgians…

Uncle Sam Costumes

Showing off your American pride can be done in any number of ways, but dressing up in a really garish Uncle Sam costume is probably the most light hearted way to tell the world the you’re an American; you’re proud of it! Patriotism is best expressed in the colors of the national flag, the Star Spangled Banner. All that red, white, and blue should get the blood running of any true American. If you don’t get goose bumps when you gaze at the magnificent banner of the finest country of world, I just don’t know what’s wrong with you. As Uncle Sam be sure to behave yourself, as you’re representing not only your country, but all the other country loving folk of the freest land on earth.

Uncle Sam costumes can make some great scary costumes, too. With the application of the right makeup, you can turn Uncle Sam into a scary symbol of America…perfect for illustrating the beating America’s reputation has taken in recent history. This is a fantastic idea for protests and for Halloween. You can either be the super creepy zombie Uncle Sam, or an attention grabber at your next big protest. Either way, you’re showing your American pride and being pertinent; or festive. Uncle Sam is the type of guy that would give you a chance, so why don’t you extend his character the same courtesy. You’ll look quite patriotic and will attract lots of attention in a big hatted Uncle Sam Costume. C’mon, do it!
